Best Online Pc Games?

Recently bought a gaming computer, its super fast and was wondering what are some fun online games to play!
some friends told me counter strike, others prefer World Of Warcraft. Seems a bit expensive to be playing World Of Warcraft though. So was wondering what you guys think?

    Dungeons and Dragons online it's cool, also Lord of the rings Online (DDO and LOTRO) respectively.

    Don't buy wow. It's completely FUBAR. If you do like MMO's though, I suggest Rift. Been playing alot of Portal 2 lately though.

    Counter Strike is fun. I particularly enjoy Bad Company 2 on PC. Team Fortress 2 is another good one. WoW if you prefer MMOs
